Pastina

Pastina is probably America's number one food. I'm currently making it right now...and I even had some TJ's meatless meatballs to throw in, like some kind of real Italian might do, or at least a real vegetarian Italian. After this week, I can barely move but I insist that I should march onwards. Today, I will go to my favorite Salvation and then I will hang with my KMan and who knows what else. I will live my life!

Good to be home

Well kids. It's super good to be back home. I was in CT for way too long. I don't mind like evenings and what not, but entire weekends is way too much for me. I am so happy to see Mazzy and of course, my new best friend Esmerelda the seemingly pregnant black bear who I think might live in my back yard now. Her legs are like trees, watching her walk around is totally surreal. If you come over at night, please be careful because bitch gotta protect her cubs and her space and she might wreck you if you scare her.
Anyways, everyone saw everyone this weekend, so you all know what I did. Here are some highlights: New York City - $65 lunch on Madison Ave with E train, new shoes, Harlem, Newark - hell, picking up Meljo in a tow truck, Wynonna Ryder, CT - Dinner with the Kman, Shags with special appearance by the Kman (one night only), child's birthday party with free standing giant crucifix on hill, special China Pan dinner with EK, Monika, E-Train, Chris and guest of honor Meljo and of course coming home to my baby girl!!!!
There is more to come, but know that Brass Pony's got big things poppin (STILL BITCHES), like model fittings this week, photo shoots, Chanel shorts, Dior polos and of course our FASHION SHOW. MAY 17TH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See hot bitches like Cara Dorr, E-Train Shaneekwa Adamkiewicz and Roxanne walk the catwalk in mini dresses and hot shorts. Save your cash bitches!

Weekend Preview

My weekend officialy starts tommorow. For my baby sister's birthday, my ladies and I will be hitting up Creative Cocktail Hour and usual Thursday routine of Vegas Blvd. I'm super excited, it's my sister's first night out, EVER, and I think she's going to have a good time. I even bought a new dress...
In other big, BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG, news. Emily and I are taking Friday off to head into the city to do lunch, buy a new dress for the Brass Pony launch party (I think I'm going to go to Anna Sui), maybe see Cara Dorr and then pick up a certain special someone who lives across the sea. Every day when thinking of this person I sing the Weezer song, yup I do, I bet the rest of you do too. From there who even knows what's going on but one thing's for certain, it's fucking party time. Nobody has made finalized plans but we're working on it and will keep you all posted. Welcoming our boy back to America must be done in the most fabulous way we can think of, so everyone be prepared to come out!
There is a definite plan (at least for me) of Shags on Saturday, so everyone plan on being there!
Let's do it right this weekend.

Weekend and Brass Pony Marches On!

So this weekend include one very eventful day, one semi eventful day and one day of nothing. Friday was the nothing day, I fell asleep on the couch at 9:30 watching "What Not to Wear." It was a couple's edition and I was pissed because I don't know how the end result came out.

Saturday, my life partner KM and I enjoyed a fabulous afternoon in the Berkshires. We went to Mass MOCA and saw some cool stuff and some pretentious stuff. We ate vegan sandwiches at Brew haha and also, we made fun of lame hipsters. C'mon kids pork pie hats are OVER and so are headbands with feathers sticking up around your entire head, let's get it together shall we? We then drove around the Berkshires, through Vermont, made some detours to see the scenery and then arrived home. From there, I met up with Roxanne and pre-partied with Lambics, which had to be DIY opened with a screw and some plyers. Then we hit the Pig's Eye to party for Peter's birthday. I love him.

Sunday, I showered kittens for Dakin at Annie's, and hung out with a cat named Houdini who is 11 and needs a home. *wink *wink. We raised some denero and I bought a new doormat, which is super exciting. Then, I went back home to WORK. BRASSPONY OFFICIALLY HAS EMAIL!!!! We can be reached at brasspony@gmail.com! We're also perfecting our Myspace account, buying the ebay store that will be linked through the interface of the website and finishing up our logo. We also plan on meeting with our favorite DJ pals Johnny Strangler and Garage Flower Saturday night to plan our fashion show. THIS IS BIG! Thomas and I are doing BIG THINGS! (and Kristin too, she's the website genius).

As T.I. would say..."big things poppin' and little thing's stoppin."
keep it real.

A Brass Pony Update and How I Delivered

Okay so this weekend was intense. Friday night Kevin Mathers and I had a date. For all of you single people, dates are just as fun when you live together as they were when you first started. We started the evening with fake meat at Butterfly, cheap cd buying at Turn It Up! (downtown of course) and then caught the 9:15 of "Paranoid Park." Let me just say this, that movie was fucking boring. Yup, I said it. It was more boring than "Fog of War" and yes I said that too. I don't care, Gus Van Sant, blah blah blah, boring boring boring. But on the up side, Pleasant Street Theater now carries Oh Sweet Mama's vegan cookies, so I at least had one of those.

This brings me to the Brass Pony update. Saturday morning, I overslept, but got in the car and made it down to the village by 12:45 to meet my bestie Ms. Cara Dorr for lunch at Sacred Chow. After an afternoon of chit chatting and a parking ticket, I got back in the car and headed uptown to Harlem to pick up my sister, also named Cara. We made a mad dash out the door, as we were running late back to CT but not without TONS of clothes and designer shoes to be put for sale on BRASS PONY! Soooo exciting! Cara Jane, my fabulous sister, really delivered. I also got a sneak preview of what was in store for her new line of dresses, which will be featured on the website and of course in the launch party fashion show.

Saturday night, after my business trip to the city, I hit up the Pig's Eye with best ladies Roxanne and Emily, along with my partner in crime Mr. Thomas J. I have to say, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. There was some Blur, some Gorillaz (Dirty Harry even which is totally my fav.) and some Daft Punk. The DJ sort of brought it I hate to say.

Anyways, fast forward to Tuesday. Kristin C, our website designer, and Thomas J. (obviously) came over for an evening of sorting through clothes and hanging things on the racks. However, we ran out of hangers and nothing was open so we ended up just going to Herell's and then to meet Roxanne over at the Basement. Although it started off slow, I OFFICIALLY DELIVERED. That's right bitches, I fucking brought it. That dance floor was packed, Thomas and Kristin officially discovered my real, true, undying love for hip-hop when they were shocked to find out that I know the words to nearly every good hip-hop song out there and we turned out the hot steps to some great motown and soul jams too. I officially showed SOMEONE, ANYONE, a good time here in my lifeless town. So officialy, when people are invited to come, they can only now come on Tuesdays because I know that's the only night of the week I can sell Noho on Hartford.

So as the end of this really long update draws near, I am please to announced that Kristin has designed us a LOGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND IT'S SOOOOOOOOO FLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the racks are starting to tip over because we have so much stuff....anyone want to come over and go shopping?

Tight Rope

Hi all-
Last night, the K-Man and I boycotted the usual Thursday night activites to be awesome and go see "Kooza" by Cirque Du Soleil. If I spelt that wrong, I'm sorry, I just don't fucking care. It was totally magical...beautiful tents, beautiful acrobats and a human catapult act to the tune of "Under Pressure." Totally worth the denero. Just know that if you go, don't sit anywhere accessible to clowns, they will attack you.
As this weekend rolls around, I'm still figuring out where I'm going and what I'm doing. The only plans for sure are as follows: a brief trip into Harlem/BK to have a lovely lunch with one of my favorite ladies, Ms. Cara Dorr and to do a vintage pick up from la casa Cara DeMichele on Saturday morning. Also, on Sunday I'll be showering a cousin as she's having a baby and that's cause for money spending. What weekend would be complete if I didn't have some kind of family function to attend?
More to come soon - Brass Pony is taking an entire stock inventory this weekend and if you're a close friend or model of ours, you can make an appointment with us to drive to Noho to get first dibs before the website launch. Holla at yo girl.

Brass Pony and the Town Where Music Never Dies

So, it's really happening. Brass Pony is finally taking off the ground. After a buying binge this weekend, last night Thomas and I spent hours going through our finds and making prices. We even got our second customer, Sam, who bought up two of our best Dior pieces. Kevin was our first customer though, he lives in our headquarters so he gets first dibs naturally.
Anyways, it's really getting serious. Kristin is going to be our fabulous website designer and she has a brilliant vision for the site and we are planning our fashion show/launch party. It's really happening and I couldn't be more excited. It makes me want to quit my day job and just become a vintage buyer for a living. Does anyone think that that will be lucrative enough to pay off my debt and move to the city?
On a side note, I was once at kareoke, dancing to Beyonce circa 2002 and overheard someone say "Ugh, Northampton the land where songs never die" and last night I fucking realized how true that was. I mean I'm listening to T.I. right now but like PEOPLE, the main stream hip-hop we listened to in middle school/high school, can not be the ONLY music that gets played in this town. I'm serious, every night in this town (including my horrible experience at Bishops with Sam and Thom last night) is the same, I might cry. I WANT ROCK AND ROLL BACK! Give me Buzzcocks, bust out "Victoria" by the Kinks, throw on The Who, I don't give a shit, but I want to dance to rock and roll again. I'M BEGGING YOU DJ'S GET LIKE NIKE AND JUST DO IT.
